Lazio Coach Simone Inzaghi: “Coppa Italia Has Meant a Lot to Us Over the Years”

Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi discussed tomorrow’s Coppa Italia clash against Parma in an interview with Italian broadcaster Lazio Style Channel (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

We know that we come from an excellent performance in the derby, but what interests me most is tomorrow’s game.

We’re very attached to the Coppa Italia, it’s a competition that has meant a lot to us over the years.

We’re committed to it, but it’s normal that I’ll rotate players to start whoever’s had less minutes, even if they’ve always trained in the best possible way.

The 44-year-old Italian coach then touched on the injuries to Brazilian defender Luiz Felipe and Spanish midfielder Luis Alberto.

Yesterday was not a very good day. We had disappointing news regarding Luiz Felipe’s ankle, which probably won’t let us have him for some time.

Then we had the unforeseen Luis Alberto problem, which fortunately was solved with an emergency operation. But he’ll clearly take him off for a few games.

But we have the duty to go on in the best possible way, thinking one game at a time, tomorrow it will be Parma and our concentration is already there.

Finally, Inzaghi discussed tomorrow’s match and the qualities of the Emilian club.

It will be a different game compared to the league. It will be a tricky match, we’re playing against an opponent who got a great draw against Sassuolo on Sunday, with a coach who has known the team for years.

We’ll have to play a Lazio game to try to get to the quarter-finals.
