Former Arsenal defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos’ agents have offered the player to Lazio, according to a report from Italian journalist Enrico De Lellis on his Twitter page yesterday.
The 32-year-old Greek defender agreed to mutually terminate his contract with the Gunners yesterday, after two and a half years in North London, making him available to sign for a new club on a free transfer.
He has many suitors, including Genoa in Italy, who have offered him a three-year contract worth €1.8 million net per season.

Lazio are considering Sokratis, but the issue is that by signing him they would be forced to exclude a player from the Serie A squad registration list, and that player is likely to be Luiz Felipe.
The 23-year-old Brazilian defender is set to undergo ankle surgery today or tomorrow, and isn’t expected to recover until early April.
The Biancocelesti are reflecting upon the offer and if it is worth cutting Luiz Felipe from the Serie A squad registration list.
