Parma to Provide Competition to Lazio for Juventus Owned Defender

Parma are also interested in signing Lazio linked defender Daniele Rugani, according to a report from Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

The report details how the Biancocelesti are considering signing a new centre back this transfer window after Brazilian defender Luiz Felipe decided to undergo surgery for his ankle issue.

One of the players that they’re linked with is the 26-year-old Italian Daniele Rugani, who is currently on loan at French side Stade Rennais from Juventus.

He has hardly featured so far this campaign for the Ligue 1 side, making only two appearances for a total of 107 minutes.

Parma are also interested in acquiring Rugani, having failed to close out the deal for Al-Duhail defender Medhi Benatia.

Last season, Rugani made 14 appearances across all competitions for Juventus, for a total of 1047 minutes. In that time, he picked up two yellow cards and helped the side keep two clean sheets.
