FIGC Fine Lazio €2500 for Delayed Covid-19 Tests Last Season

The Italian football federation has fined Lazio €2500 for their delayed Covid-19 tests last season, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

The report details how the FIGC highlighted how the Biancocelesti were slow to submit Covid-19 tests last campaign, submitting them every six days instead of every four.

The issue dates back to last season, in May and June, and so is unrelated to the testing issues earlier this season.

The fines have been levied against president Claudio Lotito (€1875), Doctor Ivo Pulcini (€937.50) and Doctor Fabio Rodia (€937.50).

Lazio had a series of Covid-19 testing issues earlier this season, with inconsistent results between those carried out for the league and those for the Champions League.

The Biancocelesti suggest that if there were any testing irregularities, that they are an injured party, rather than a culprit.
