Formello: Lazio Striker Ciro Immobile Likely to Start Against Sassuolo on Sunday

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile completed the entirety of squad training today in Formello and is set to start against Sassuolo on Sunday, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

The report details how the 30-year-old Italian forward was not even called up for the Coppa Italia match against Parma yesterday, which the Biancocelesti walked away from 2-1 winners.

Today’s training session with coach Simone Inzaghi was comprised of players who did not feature against the Emilian side yesterday, with Ecuadorian forward Felipe Caicedo also present.

Caicedo and Argentine forward Joaquin Correa will compete to start alongside Immobile on Sunday, and the tactical training exercises will begin tomorrow.

Patric will re-join the backline alongside Francesco Acerbi and Stefan Radu against the Neroverdi, whilst Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro and Marco Parolo are fighting to take Luis Alberto’s spot in the starting 11.

Another idea would be to deploy Brazilian forward Andreas Pereira as a mezzala to add a little more creativity to midfield.
