Lazio midfielder Senad Lulic made his long-awaited return to feature with Lazio during the team’s Coppa Italia Round of 16 fixture against Parma. Lulic did not contribute much when on the pitch, but in the big picture, he is finally back and available for the team.
Lulic touched on his return to action with Lazio in post-match comments relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.
So much emotion for me. It was also strange because for the first time, I played without public; it was better to go in with the fans.
Beyond that, I’m very happy after having had a difficult year. I’m fine, it’s normal after a long period so putting in training with the team, slowly improving. The season is still long and I hope to help the team reach our goals.
Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi now has another quality midfield depth option that he can go to off the bench.
It certainly will be interesting to see just how Inzaghi plans to integrate Lulic back in with the team.
