Former Lazio captain Pino Wilson interviewed with La Lazio Siamo Noiwhere he discussed various topics concerning the Biancocelesti

One of the first questions that Wilson is over Lazio’s recent form under manager Simone Inzaghi. The former Lazio captain discussed a positive run for his former side as a win over AS Roma in the Derby della Capitale is always positive.

An extremely positive week, started with the derby and finished with the qualification, not to mention the return of Lulic after almost a year of forced rest. This week allowed us to calm the environment. After the Champions League, some results were not up to our abilities, and instead, now we have the wind in our sails again.

Despite being in seventh place in the Serie A table, Lazio only sits three points out of fourth place. After a slow start, Inzaghi has his squad back in the top four race as back to back UEFA Champions League appearances is now in the fold.

Wilson touched on Vedat Muriqi’s situation, who has zero goals in 14 appearances for Lazio.

He still needs to play. Although he scored a lovely goal as a true striker, it is not an episode that changes the situation. I prefer to see him even better, more present on the pitch, and able to stay in that group. For me, he is still behind, but he has many mitigating circumstances on his side, from injury to contagion through the impact of a new championship.

With a few more days left in the transfer window, Wilson touched on a transfer target that Lazio might look into to improve the squad. The second half of the Serie A season will become more intense, with plenty of sides battling for four spots.

An element with an international path, in one of the most famous teams in Europe, Arsenal. I don’t know if it will be successful, but I think a return to the market is right. Maybe he would come.

Furthermore, with Lazio facing FC Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, more depth or an upgrade wouldn’t hurt the club.
