Giancarlo Oddi Discusses Patric’s Performance in Lazio’s Victory Against Parma

In Lazio’s 2-1 victory over Parma Calcio, Patric came in as a substitute for Andreas Pereira during the second half and played 31 minutes in their Coppa Italia fixture.

The Spain international had 21 touches while on the pitch while completing 16 of 18 passes for an accurate percentage of 89. Aside from that, Patric was another body out on the pitch. However, former Lazio defender Giancarlo Oddi would like to see the 27-year-old be a bit more careful when out on the field during an interview with RadioSei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi)

Nonetheless, Oddi mentions how Patric has adapted well to the role that manager Simone Inzaghi is asking him to play. Furthermore, Oddi states that at the moment, he prefers Patric over Marco Parolo.

[Against Parma] I saw a good Lazio, everyone tried to make their contribution. Patric could have been a little more careful, he had to look at the man and stay close to him. In defense is Patric better or Parolo? I choose Patric, he has been adapted to that role for a while now.

Regardless Lazio will need to rely on both players as the second half of the Serie A season is underway and have the rest of the Coppa Italia competition. Then there’s their UEFA Round of 16 matchup against FC Bayern Munich.
