Report: Lazio Probing the Possibility of Signing Barcelona’s Todibo This Transfer Window

Lazio wants to address their backline in the remaining days of the winter transfer window.

Recently, the Biancocelesti reportedly had their names linked to former Arsenal FC defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos.

However, the Italian side is said to prefer a younger profile, with the Greek defender opting to return to his home country.

With only a few days left until the window closes, Lazio may have found their younger transfer target to improve their defense.

According to football journalist Nicolò Schira, the Biancocelesti are in talks with FC Barcelona over 21-year-old Jean-Clair Todibo, who’s currently on loan with SL Benfica.

The France international has only made two appearances for the Portuguese club this season. Furthermore, Todibo has only made five appearances for Barcelona, and it doesn’t appear as though he has a future with them.

As Lazio gauges interest, it is important to take note of the fact that Transfermarkt values the player at €14 million. If the Biancocelesti can perhaps negotiate a loan with an option to buy, it would be a solid business move for the Italian side.
