The first half of the Serie A season is in the books. For Lazio, it surely was one filled with ups and downs. The Biancocelesti got off to a concerning start in league play but thanks to a recent winning streak, the side is now back in serious contention for a top-four spot in the league table.
Lazio had multiple standout performers over its first 19 league matches of the season. For one, Francesco Acerbi delivered for the side in key matches.
Acerbi was also the most reliable player for manager Simone Inzaghi. The Italian defender logged 16 league starts and as noted by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, he recorded 2,008 total minutes played, which was the most by any Lazio player.
Acerbi continues to be the reliable rock in Lazio’s backline. He currently leads the team in clearances per game (3.7) and interceptions per game (3.2).
Lazio surely needs Acerbi to continue his impressive form over the remainder of the season.
