Lazio have joined the race with Roma for Hellas Verona goalkeeper Marco Silvestri, according to a report from Italian journalist Nicolo Schira on Twitter earlier today.
The report details how the 29-year-old Italian shot stopper, who is contracted to the Gialloblu until 2022, is destined to leave the Veneto club for a bigger team this summer transfer window, with many top clubs interested.
Silvestri has made 19 appearances in the league so far this season, for a total of 1710 minutes. In that time, he has conceded 18 goals and kept five clean sheets.
The Biancocelesti, who have been increasingly turning to veteran Pepe Reina this campaign, are also likely to sell current number one Thomas Strakosha, the report continues.
The Albanian shot stopper’s contract expires in 2022 and the Roman club would be able to sell him for a decent figure in the summer.
Dopo #ASRoma anche la #Lazio si iscrive alla corsa per Marco #Silvestri. In estate il portiere del #Verona può volare in una big e i biancocelesti hanno Thomas #Strakosha in uscita (scadenza 2022). Aria di derby. #calciomercato
