Report: Lazio and Simone Inzaghi Set to Come to Terms on a New Contract Extension

After months of rumors and speculation regarding Simone Inzaghi’s future at Lazio, the Italian manager is now set to sign a long-awaited new contract extension agreement.

A report from the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi notes that Inzaghi is on the verge of signing a new two-year contract extension deal.

Inzaghi is set to meet with Lazio club president Claudio Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare today via a video conference. The Italian manager will be presented with a contract extension offer that would keep him tied to the club until 2023.

The offer will come with an option for another year, although it is currently unknown on whether it is a mutual option or simply a club one.

Inzaghi would net €2.5 million with this new contract that will include bonuses in the agreement.

The report also adds that Inzaghi will receive the contract via email and that the new agreement between the two sides should be all official in the coming days.

This checks off a major task for Lazio as the club can now simply focus on the ongoing winter transfer window. More so, Inzaghi can put this dilemma behind him and look ahead to the task at hand of continuing to climb up the Serie A table this season.
