Argentinian defender Mateo Musacchio will take Lazio centre back Luiz Felipe’s spot in the Serie A squad registration list, but he may not in the Champions League list, according to a report from Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport earlier today.
The report details how the 30-year-old Argentine defender will sign a six-month deal with the Biancocelesti as a short-term replacement for the Brazilian, who will take at least two months to recover from ankle surgery.

Musacchio will take Luiz Felipe’s place in the Serie A squad registration list, leaving out the former Salernitana man until next season.
The former AC Milan centre back will also be able to play in the Coppa Italia as well, as there are no squad registration limits.
Regarding the Champions League squad registration list, Lazio may decide not to replace Luiz Felipe, as the return match against Bayern Munich is scheduled for the 17th March, a date that the Brazilian could be fit for.
Another idea would be to exclude Andreas Pereira from the Champions League list instead, that way keeping both defensive options open.
