Within mere days, Lazio went out and completed the signing of AC Milan defender Mateo Musacchio.

The Argentine defender spent a long time with La Liga side Villarreal before moving over to Serie A for the first time in his career to play for AC Milan. Now, he is a member of the Biancocelesti.

Many have speculated that this move will be a key one for Lazio as it had a major need for depth within its backline. And for Lazio sporting director Igli Tare, he notes several notable factors on why the club decided to sign Musacchio on a permanent transfer move.

Tare spoke about this signing, with comments being relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

He is an experienced player. We made this choice, which was difficult, because he is ready and knows the Italian.

Musacchio may be in line for his Lazio debut as soon as the team’s upcoming Serie A fixture against Atalanta. The Argentine likely may not start in the match, but he could be a candidate to receive playing time minutes off the bench.
