Ex-Lazio Captain Pino Wilson: “Musacchio Is an Excellent Signing, He’ll Be Useful”

Former Lazio captain Pino Wilson discussed the Biancocelesti’s disappointing 3-2 loss to Atalanta earlier this week and the upcoming game on Sunday in an interview with Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

It is not a big slip because we could certainly have passed the round given the result and the extra man, unfortunately one person made a mistake and we paid dearly for it.

Hoedt apologized but two blatant mistakes on his part caused us to lose the game. It’s a shame because the conditions were right, even without the starters we were up 2-1, which means we had a chance to win it.

The bad thing is that we didn’t make the most of our chances and we went out without even going into extra time. Now we have a chance for a rematch, obviously we will play from the start with our champions and try to get a different result.

Both games would have been important, we know how much we care about the Coppa Italia, but on the other hand there’s also the Champions League to be won and we’ve picked up a lot of points in recent games. This is a chance for us to take more points from a team that plays the best football against us.

Finally, Wilson spoke about the signing of Argentinian defender Mateo Musacchio from AC Milan.

An excellent addition, he’s not someone who has to settle in or doesn’t know how to speak Italian. Musacchio has been in Serie A a while and knows it well, they did well to get a player who you have to wait for but is already ready.

He had a bad injury and was away from the field but the medicals were positive, he will be useful in this period without Luiz Felipe.
