Formello: Lazio Midfielder Luis Alberto Likely to Start Against Atalanta on Sunday

Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto completed today’s squad training session again today in Formello, making him likely to start against Atalanta on Sunday, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

The report details how the 28-year-old Spanish midfielder, who is contracted to the Roman club until 2025, has seemingly fully recovered from his emergency appendix removal and will start against Gian Piero Gasperini’s side on Sunday.

Serbian midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is likely to be rested against the Nerazzurri, the report continues, as he was absent from today’s session, having another day of rest.

Mateo Musacchio is also likely to start against Atalanta, being used on the right side of the back three.

Lucas Leiva will return to the midfield, with Luis Alberto and Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro starting either side of him. The wingbacks will be Manuel Lazzari and Adam Marusic.

Pepe Reina will start in goal, with Thomas Strakosha still nursing a knee injury.
