Lazio President Claudio Lotito Called Coach Inzaghi After Coppa Italia Loss to Atalanta

Lazio president Claudio Lotito called coach Simone Inzaghi to express his disappointment at Lazio’s Coppa Italia loss to Atalanta earlier this week, according to a report from Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

The report details how the Biancocelesti president was not only disappointed with the loss and subsequent elimination from the competition, but also the attitude of the team.

The Roman club were flat and unmotivated despite having a man advantage for over half an hour, with only Pepe Reina and Francesco Acerbi trying to fire up the team.

Lotito is now hoping for a strong performance against Gian Piero Gasperini’s side in their league meeting on Sunday.

The Bergamo-based club sit two points ahead of Lazio in the league table and a win would put the Roman side in a better position to compete for a top-four finish.
