Lazio opened up the match against Atalanta by scoring the first two goals of the fixtures. It looked as though the Biancocelesti would come away with all three points in an effortless manner, but La Dea showed in the second half that they weren’t going down without a fight.

Mario Pašalić opened up the scoring for Atalanta, and it seemed as though they were ready to mount a comeback. However, Lazio didn’t panic, and instead of surrendering a second goal, they added their third goal courtesy of Vedat Muriqi as they secured the win and three points.

The 26-year-old came on as a substitute for Ciro Immobile and scored the final goal of the match.. Muriqi hopes that this goal is one of many as he uses this strike to lift his confidence and floodgates in the scoring department.

After the match, Muriqi spoke with Lazio Style Radio (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) to discuss the win over Atalanta.

The most important thing was the team victory and adding to our lead.

I went through a complicated period at my arrival between covid and injuries; it was not easy. Now I feel very good physically, I’m doing well and this is important for me and for the team.

The mantra is always the same: work hard, do my best and do well both if I play 90 minutes or 5 minutes.

Who will I dedicate my first goal in Serie A to? To my family and my children. I hope that this is only the beginning so I can dedicate them to other individuals.
