Lazio Defender Stefan Radu: “We Played a Great Game”

Lazio picked up one of its more convincing wins of the season in its Serie A clash against Atalanta. The Biancocelesti was looking to avenge the recent loss to Atalanta in the Coppa Italia quarterfinals, and it did just that with the 3-1 win.

Lazio defender Stefan Radu earned a start in the match and had one vintage showing. He logged an assist, recorded three clearances and completed three tackle attempts.

Radu had a much-needed strong performance against one of the more high-octane attacks in Serie A.

Following the match, Radu talked about just what this win meant to the team, with comments being relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

Today we played a great game. Already on Wednesday, we saw some excellent signs that the team is there and that they can beat Atalanta. Today we are back even more energized to bring at home the result.

We have seen in the last few games that the group has found each other.

Radu also touched upon one key instruction that manager Simone Inzaghi wanted him to focus on, which ended up working out to success for the Biancocelesti.

The coach told me not to let Ilicic run because he is a player who can change the game; we prepared it in the best way possible. We didn’t want to concede anything to Atalanta and we faced it with the right malice.

Radu has now recorded 16 starts in Serie A play this season to go along with an average of 1.7 tackles per game.

Lazio sure would like to have more of these showings from Radu this season.
