Former Lazio coach Cristiano Bergodi discussed Biancocelesti defender Stefan Radu in an interview with Romanian media outlet LookSport.ro yesterday.
Radu has long since surpassed me in terms of appearances for Lazio. It’s a pleasant surprise for me. He’s an extraordinary player, it’s just a shame he gave up the national team.
It’s not easy to play for Lazio for 13 years, there’s always a lot of pressure. It’s not easy to stay there for so long.
After the pre-season training camp I still see him with the Biancocelesti. All his team-mates love him, the management is very happy with him, he’s a legend.
He has a very good chance of getting a place at the club and I also think he can do a good job. He is a special person.
The 34-year-old Radu, who is contracted to the Roman club until the end of the season, has made 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1337 minutes.
This season he broke the Lazio record for most Serie A appearances, and he currently sits at 397.
