Formello: Lazio’s Milinkovic-Savic Given An Extra Days’ Rest & Misses Training

Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was absent from today’s double training session in Formello, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

The report details how the 25-year-old Serbian midfielder, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2024, was given an extra days’ rest, after an incredibly busy schedule over the last few months.

He is likely to return to squad training tomorrow, and is expected to start against Cagliari in their Serie A fixture on Sunday.

Luiz Felipe, Thomas Strakosha, Danilo Cataldi and Felipe Caicedo were all still absent from training as well, with the Ecuadorian striker still suffering from plantar fasciitis.

Coach Simone Inzaghi will begin tactical preparations for the match against the Rossoblu in a few days, and is likely to pick a similar starting 11 to the one that beat Atalanta last weekend.

Mateo Musacchio will start in place of Spanish defender Patric, who is suspended for the match due to picking up five yellow cards.
