Lazio midfielder Adam Marusic was a superb contributor for the Biancocelesti in its Serie A fixture against Atalanta.
Not only did Marusic score the opener of the match within minutes of the first half, but he also chipped in for a quality performance that somewhat resembled a box-to-box midfielder. He created a pair of goal-scoring chances, completed three tackles, won four ground duels and recorded a successful dribble attempt.
Marusic was among 11 players included in WhoScored’s Serie A Team of the Week for the recent matchday. He topped out at an 8.0 rating for his performance, which is among the highest that he has had in league play this season.
Overall, Marusic has now logged 16 starts in league play this season, which puts him closer to doubling last season’s total of 10.
Marusic continues to be a reliable contributor for manager Simone Inzaghi in league play so far this season.
