Former Italian defender Giancarlo Oddi is all in to seeing Lazio emerge as a contender for the Scudetto this season.

Lazio’s recent rise in form has brought the side from ninth place at one point in the season to now a fifth-place standing in the league table. The team has had several key contributors over its active six-match league winning streak, including star forward Ciro Immobile.

With the Biancocelesti’s recent strong play, Oddi hopes that the side can soon emerge as a serious contender in Serie A this season.

Oddi spoke about Lazio’s Serie A aspirations, with comments being relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

I don’t like Inter but they have players who score goals, at the moment they are the most accredited for the title. But you have to play all the games, there are still many.

If four of them will play it and I hope Lazio will also be among them. They are stronger than Roma, Napoli and Atalanta.

Inter will be an important meeting point. Not losing is essential.

A win for Lazio over Inter Milan in this upcoming fixture would surely send out a message to the rest of the league that this side is the real deal.
