Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic added another individual award to his trophy case as he was named Serie A MVP for the month of January.

The Serbian midfielder had several impressive showings in the month and even chipped in for key goal contributions in must-win fixtures, including against the likes of Sassuolo.

It was certainly a clear choice for Serie A, but for Milinkovic-Savic, he did not see this coming.

The Serbian midfielder provided his thoughts on winning this notable league award, with comments being relayed by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

I didn’t expect it. Also thanks to the team, we are playing well. Now it’s my turn, let’s hope the next ones will be given to my teammates.

I will put it at home, when I get up I will see it and it will give me an extra boost.

Milinkovic-Savic is already off to a strong start this month thanks to his one-assist performance in Lazio’s recent 1-0 win over Cagliari
