Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi is one step away from winning 100 Serie A matches, setting a new record for the Biancocelesti, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.
The report details how the 44-year-old Italian coach has achieved 99 wins in Serie A since taking over in the summer of 2016, recording 24 victories last campaign.
In his 180 total league matches, Inzaghi’s winning record is 55%, a little higher than Scudetto winning coach Sven Goran Eriksson, who won 63 games out of 115, putting him at 54.7%.
Inzaghi has presided over wins against all 28 teams that he has faced in the last four and a half years, with his favourite opponent being Cagliari, who he has seen defeated eight times.
The Lazio coach can set the record this weekend with a win against Inter on Sunday, who were the first big team that he managed to beat, a 2-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico in May of 2016.
