Former Italian Forward Bianchi Details a Key Reason for Why Immobile Must Maintain Current Form for Remainder of the Season

Lazio forward Ciro Immobile has been on top of his game this season. For one, the Italian forward has scored 14 Serie A goals, which leads the team.

Former Italian forward Rolando Bianchi notes Immobile’s top form so far this season. Still, Bianchi believes that Immobile must maintain his current form throughout the remainder of the season in order to secure a starting spot in Italian national team manager Roberto Mancini’s starting 11 for the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament.

Bianchi spoke (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) about Immobile along with current Torino forward Andrea Belotti, a player who the former forward sees as one who could pose serious competition to the Lazio star for Italy’s starting center-forward spot in the upcoming Euros.

They are two different players, I would also see them well together, but in Mancini’s form, only one can play. It will depend on the final of the season, but we hope they are both well for the European Championship.

At the moment, Immobile seems like the clear-cut choice to be the starting center-forward for Italy in the Euro 2020 tournament. Immobile’s performances over the remainder of the season may dictate this decision.
