Lazio has made quite the turnaround in Serie A play as of late. The Biancocelesti has gone from being billed as one of the more disappointing teams of the league season to now up there in contention for a top-four spot in the league table.

Former Italian midfielder Antonio Di Gennaro has noted Lazio’s recent run in strong form. Still, he does not foresee this as being enough to push the side up to be among the serious Scudetto contenders.

Di Gennaro provided his thoughts on Lazio’s campaign, with comments being relayed by the Italian-based outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The team is strong, and everyone has had difficult moments. We are experiencing a unique year, just look at the example of Liverpool. Lazio are recovering, they have found very important players who raise the level.

For the Scudetto, however, I see Inter and Milan today, with the possibility that Juve will come back if they win against Napoli.

Lazio’s aspirations at making a surprise run for the Scudetto are not over just yet. A win for Lazio over Inter Milan up next would certainly push the side up further in the discussion for the Scudetto this season.
