Ex-Coach Lippi: “I Wouldn’t Even Include Lazio Amongst the Title Contenders”

Former Italy and Juventus coach Marcello Lippi discussed the ongoing Serie A title race and if Lazio can be included in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radio Anch’io Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

Everything is to be expected from this season, it started in a strange way, without preparation. There were the conditions for this uncertainty.

From Inter’s 50 points to Roma, with Juve and Napoli one game behind, they can all be in with a chance of winning the Scudetto.

He did not think that there was a five-way race for the Scudetto.

Atalanta are a little behind, they’re 10 points off the top and that’s a lot. I didn’t even include Lazio among the title contenders.

Finally, Lippi looked ahead to the upcoming knockout rounds of the Champions League.

Juve with Porto have an easier match but Lazio will be facing one of the best, the favourites together with Manchester City.

Real and Barcelona are a bit behind but it’s never easy to face them and it won’t be easy for Atalanta. Bayern are still the strongest team in Europe
