Former Italian defender Massimo Piscedda is being critical of Lazio’s overall defensive performance in its Serie A fixture against Inter Milan.

Lazio went with Francesco Acerbi, Wesley Hoedt and Patric for its backline in the match. The Biancocelesti allowed three goals and seven shots on target to the now current league-leaders Inter.

Piscedda is not very pleased with Lazio’s showing in the match. He spoke further about Lazio’s defensive showing and on what possible changes could be needed, with comments being relayed by the Italian-based outlet Cittaceleste.

The match was not good. The Nerazzurri didn’t do much to win but in the end, they made it.

Lazio is missing above all in the best men. Behind there is some problem, especially when Acerbi is diverted to the left. For me, he should always play in the center. Elsewhere, nothing more is brought about. Then Hoedt has limits. I would have reversed them. For me, playing the Dutchman in the middle is not the best solution.

Lazio will now have a chance to bounce back in league play with its upcoming fixture against Sampdoria. The Biancocelesti sure could use yet another key winning streak at this point in the season.
