Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar is showing appreciation to Lazio following their recent Serie A clash.
Inter Milan came into its fixture against Lazio needing a win to move to the top of the league table. And Inter did just that with a 3-1 win over Lazio on matchday 22.
Skriniar earned the start for Inter in the match. Skriniar went on to have one of his more formidable showings of the season with eight clearances, five ground duels won, four tackles, one interception and one blocked shot recorded. The Slovenian talent played a key role in holding Lazio to a mere one goal scored in the match.
Following the result, Skriniar provided for post-match comments (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) where he gave props to Lazio for the arduous fixture.
Lazio is a good team that has done well. We knew what game was waiting for us.
We could have scored even more goals. Too bad for the goal conceded, but the victory is an important signal.
Inter now stands at 10 points above Lazio in the league standings after matchday 22.
