Journalist Sconcerti: “Lazio Have Had the Best Players for a While but No Depth”

Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti discussed Lazio’s painful 3-1 loss to Inter yesterday, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

Inter and Milan are the two most complete teams. Not Juventus who lack even one strong, less clear reference in their leadership.

Not Roma who often play better than everyone else, but never finish. Nor Lazio who have lost too many times from the start.

They have had the best players for a long time, but only a few and always those players.

Lazio’s lack of depth has often been discussed this season, with stars like Ciro Immobile, Francesco Acerbi and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic often playing many games in a row without a break, unlike the stars of other teams in the division.

The Roman club’s lack of options on the bench could be seen as one of the reasons why the team failed to beat Juventus for the league title last campaign, due to the incredibly busy schedule tiring out the core starting 11.
