Lazio Midfielder Marco Parolo: “I Don’t Like Being on the Bench”

Lazio midfielder Marco Parolo is signaling out his slight frustrations regarding his lack of playing time minutes this season.

For years, Parolo was a regular starter for the Biancocelesti in all competitions. However, this has not necessarily been the case so far this season. The Italian midfielder has only totaled for 18 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

As of late, Parolo has only amounted for three appearances in the team’s last 11 Serie A matches, including a recent 45-minute cameo against Inter Milan.

As he detailed in SciabolaTalk on Clubhouse (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Parolo is not very pleased with the lack of playing time minutes this season.

I don’t like being on the bench; I don’t think a professional likes to watch his teammates. The goal is to always keep going as long as the body allows. I always want to move the bar further and further

Everything that surrounds football is very important, if everything turns right I can still give a lot.

I’m so focused on the season and the team. Football raises you a lot for the family. It is a sport of sacrifice. I also like to escape and have fun.

Parolo could be playing in his final season with Lazio as he is set to become a free agent following this season. Still, Parolo has plenty left in the tank as a versatile talent for the team.
