Federal Prosecutor Giuseppe Chinè has referred Lazio, president Claudio Lotito and doctors Ivo Pulcini and Fabio Rodia to the federal court for violating the FIGC’s anti-Covid health protocols, according to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today.

The report details how Lotito and the two doctors are being accused of violating Article 4.1 of the Sports Justice Code, Article 44.1 of the Noif, the FIGC health protocols and the provisions of the FIGC statement of 1 September 2020 in the case of ‘failure to comply with health protocols’.

Lazio have been referred for ‘direct, objective and proper responsibility for the situation’, the report continues, and so now must defend their position in court.

Earlier this season the Biancocelesti were at the centre of a scandal involving inconsistent Covid-19 test results, with players like Ciro Immobile and Lucas Leiva testing positive in UEFA’s Covid tests but negative in the ones carried out for the league.
