Lazio is just days removed from its disappointing 3-1 Serie A loss to Inter Milan. This was a key opportunity for Lazio to show that the side is gradually emerging as a serious contender for the Scudetto. But in the end, it was Inter Milan that picked up the win and moved to the top of the table.
Even with the loss, Lazio did have plenty of key contributors in the match, including midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The Serbian midfielder scored a goal, created two goal-scoring chances for teammates and logged a pair of tackles completed.
Milinkovic-Savic also played a key role in being the main facilitator in distributing possession upfield. As noted by the Twitter account Lazio Page, he played 56 balls forward in the match, which led all Serie A players in the last round of play.
