Red Star Coach Stankovic: “Returning to Lazio or Inter Would Represent Closing of a Circle”

Red Star Belgrade coach Dejan Stankovic spoke about a possible return to Italy ahead of his side’s Europa League clash against AC Milan in an interview earlier today, as reported by Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi).

I’m a Red Star child, coaching them is a privilege. I’ll give it my all until the end.

And I don’t make predictions, but for sure, returning tomorrow to Lazio or Inter would represent the closing of a wonderful circle.

The 42-year-old Stankovic spent six years of his playing career with Lazio, from 1998 to 2004, where he was a part of the squad that won the league title, two Coppa Italia, two Supercoppa Italiana, a Cup Winners’ Cup and a UEFA Super Cup in that period.

The Serbian then spent the last nine years of his career with fellow Italian side Inter, where he won a multitude of honors, including five league titles, four Coppa Italia and a Champions League.
