Lazio Women Coach Carolina Morace: “Very Happy With Derby Win Over Roma”

Lazio Women coach Carolina Morace discussed the Biancocelesti’s 2-1 derby win over rivals Roma in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

I am very happy for the victory yesterday, I arrived and introduced an extra training and I found all the players available, this spurs us on even more to do well.

Even in yesterday’s win I realised from the looks on their faces that they were doubly happy because they wanted to give us this victory in addition to the joy of winning a derby.

I thank the girls, we’ve arrived, we’ve changed some things, the intensity of the training sessions, we’re asking them to make sacrifices and they’re responding as best they can.

She talked about the importance of the signings made in the January transfer window.

Labate has to grow physically but I think it is also important that Luijks, who is already structured for my way of playing, has to improve in agility and coordination.

She will improve soon but she is also very good. They are all doing very well. I like to have alternatives, after a month that I’m here I can start to see something also because I don’t want to be obvious and that the opponents have already prepared the strategy to play against us.

The Lazio Women coach touched on if there is a player with her style of play or characteristics.

Over the years I have been compared to many players but each player is different.

Finally, Morace looked ahead to the next Serie B Women fixture against Riozzese Como.

We have a good week in which we have to train well.
