Former Lazio forward Bruno Giordano discussed tomorrow’s Serie A clash against Sampdoria and next week’s Champions League fixture with Bayern Munich in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster TMW Radio earlier today.

They are certainly thinking about it. This Lazio is not used to playing in the Champions League, they will think much more about Tuesday’s challenge but there is Sampdoria first and we must close this as soon as possible.

But mentally the Champions League takes your energy away.

Simone Inzaghi’s side were on a run on incredible form at the start of this calendar year, but last weekend’s loss to Inter has left the Roman club licking their wounds a little.

In the Biancocelesti’s first meeting with Sampdoria this season, Claudio Ranieri’s side came out 3-0 winners.
