Ex-Sampdoria Forward Flachi: “If Lazio Aren’t Thinking About The UCL They’ll Do Well”

Former Sampdoria forward Francesco Flachi discussed tomorrow’s Serie A clash against Lazio in an interview with Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com earlier today.

I think Lazio are a very good team. One of their best features is the unity of the locker room, which believe me is great.

They have great harmony, thanks to which you can overcome difficulties.

He touched on which players excite him the most when on the pitch.

Well, there’s Milinkovic-Savic, he’s a great player. There’s Ciro Immobile who averages 30 goals a year.

Then Luis Alberto, let’s not forget about him, he’s really something, and to think that he didn’t convince the first year. Not forgetting the coach as well.

The 45-year-old Italian spoke a little more about coach Simone Inzaghi.

I had the pleasure of playing with Simone Inzaghi. He’s a very nice and humble person, but believe me, if someone had told me he would become so good I would never have believed it!

He’s a great leader and I congratulate him a lot.

He looked ahead to tomorrow’s fixture.

It will all depend on Lazio. If they’re focused and not thinking about the Champions League they’ll do well.

With the right mentality the Biancocelesti are difficult to beat. I repeat, it will all depend on their heads.

Finally, Flachi discussed if he was ever close to joining Lazio in his playing career.

Not to Lazio, but I almost came to the capital twice, to Roma. The first time in 1999 with Sensi and the second time in the first period of Spalletti who wanted me to be Totti’s assistant, but nothing came of it.
