Lazio and Milan Linked to Club Brugge Wonderkid Who Dreams of ‘Foreign Adventure’

The 2020-21 season continues to have significant importance for Lazio.

They’re currently in a race to secure a top-four finish in Serie A to guarantee themselves UEFA Champions League football in 2021-22, while also still competing in this year’s edition of the European competition.

Nonetheless, the Italian side has an eye out for next season and will look for ways to improve their squad, especially if they will be playing against Europe’s best.

One area that Lazio could look to improve is their midfield and this is where teenage sensation Charles De Ketelaere comes into the fold.

In an interview with Krant van West-Vlaanderen (via Goal), the Club Brugge midfielder admitted that he’d like to move to Serie A amid interest from Lazio and AC Milan.

Honestly, I do dream of an adventure abroad, but I don’t have to right now.

I will always make a healthy choice; a footballer always wants to improve.

A few foreign clubs are interested in me, but if I stay at Club Brugge for another three years, I would be very happy with that.

De Ketelaere has made 33 appearances for Brugge, where he’s scored three goals and had five assists.

According to SofaScore, the teenager is averaging 44.1 touches per game while registering 1.4 key passes per game in the Belgian Pro League.

When it comes to the cost, De Ketelaere’s value sits around €16 million per Transfermarkt and is under contract through to June 2023 with Brugge.

Despite ambitions to head abroad, the 19-year-old states that he is in no rush to depart the Belgium side.
