Simone Inzaghi Reaches 100 Wins in Serie A Following Lazio’s 1-0 Victory Over Sampdoria

As the months go by, Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi continues to prove that he should receive a contract extension.

This season, the Italian tactician not only brought back UEFA Champions League football for the Rome-based club (after a 12 year hiatus), but also guided his squad past the group stage and qualified for the tournament’s knockout stages.

While in Serie A, Lazio had a slow start (as they tried to navigate balancing the league and Europe’s top competition), the 44-year-old and his side have battled through adversity and are now in the race for a top-four spot.

Lazio’s 1-0 victory over UC Sampdoria marked the 100th win in Serie A for Inzaghi, per Opta Paolo. The Lazio manager began his tenure in 2016, and unless contract talks go off the rails, Inzaghi should be adding to his win total.

Now, the Italian tactician will try to add to his resume, as he attempts to slay the giant that is FC Bayern Munich in the Round of 16 of the Champions League.
