Lazio came away with a 1-0 win over UC Sampdoria at the Stadio Olimpico in a tuneup fixture before looking ahead to their UEFA Champions League clash against FC Bayern Munich.
One of the positives that the Biancocelesti can take away from this victory is their ability to limit Sampdoria’s chances to connect with a shot on target. The Blucerchiati fired ten shots in the loss but zero connected on target, with Lazio blocking six of those shots from their opponent.
After the match, Sampdoria defender Alex Ferrari complimented Lazio’s defending during an interview with their club’s official channel.
We met a great team, but we still had a good performance. We were only missing a goal; we deserved to equalize, but [Lazio] was better at defending.
