“We Are Not Afraid of Bayern” – Luis Alberto Comments on Lazio’s Upcoming Champions League Fixture

Last week, Lazio fell off their winning ways after a loss at the San Siro to Inter Milan. With the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against FC Bayern Munich on the horizon, the Biancocelesti wanted to head into the first-leg on a winning note.

The Rome-based club welcomed UC Sampdoria for their final tune-up before they clash with the Bavarian side. Luis Alberto scored the lone in the 1-0 victory over Blucerchiati

After the match, the 28-year-old spoke with Sky Sport (via Corriere dello Sport), where the midfielder touched on the upcoming clash against the German giant.

Luis Alberto admits that they will enter the match respecting their opponent, but that the squad will be heading into the tie wanting to leave it all out on the pitch for 180 minutes.

The team has now changed mentality; we know we have to play well against every team.

The game against Bayern Munich will be challenging, we know. They are the world champions, and they are the favorites since they won the last Champions League only a few months ago. I’m sure we’ll give it our all, and it will be a good match.

We are not afraid of Bayern – when we enter the field, we will try to have fun; however, we must have respect and be careful.

Bayern Munich will be coming into this fixture having gone winless in their last two domestic matches, including a loss to Eintracht Frankfurt.
