Former Italian defender Massimo Oddo is noting Lazio’s recent promising form ahead of its UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg fixture against FC Bayern Munich.

Lazio is just coming off of a win against Sampdoria. It was not a fixture in which Lazio dominated over the course of the match, but still, the side took home all three points in the end

Now, Bayern Munich awaits Lazio in a tie in which Oddo (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) notes will be a grand challenge for the Italian side.

Bayern is an army, a real battleship, but believe me, beyond the values and experience, Lazio are playing great.

I am more than convinced of it.

There is one player that Oddo feels could have a strong showing in the tie.

[Ciro] Immobile will be motivated by the challenge with [Robert] Lewandowski.

Then in the spaces, he can be devastating for the German defense.

Lazio could sure use another top performance from Immobile in this competition.
