Former Lazio midfielder Stefano Mauri is providing some insight to the Biancoelesti’s UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against FC Bayern Munich.

Both teams head into the tie in surprisingly contrasting form. Lazio has reeled off multiple keys win over the past month, including against the likes of AS Roma. Meanwhile, Bayern remains at the top of the Bundesliga with a two-point lead over RB Leipzig but is coming off of back-to-back winless results in league play.

Still, Mauri (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) sees that Lazio must put together one of its more complete showings of the season in order to pull off the monumental upset against the reigning Bundesliga winners.

Lazio must play the perfect match. It will be a very difficult double challenge but they can do it.

Bayern heads into this tie as the heavy favorites, but the Bundesliga powerhouse surely is not going to underestimate Lazio.
