Former Lazio Striker Riedle: “Bayern Are Not Unbeatable”

Former Lazio striker Karl-Heinz Riedle is not among those claiming that Bayern Munich is the runaway favorite in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against the Biancocelesti.

Bayern has had some slight Bundesliga woes as of late. The Bavarian powerhouse still maintains a lead at the top of the league table but recent lowly performances against the likes of Eintracht Frankfurt have raised some alarms over the side’s form.

As Riedle told the Italian-based outlet Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Bayern should not be considered as the overwhelming favorites to handily take care of Lazio in this tie.

Bayern are not unbeatable. Now they are in a bit of a crisis due to absences but in any case, it is possible that Lazio, who are having a great championship and one point from the Champions League, has a good chance to win.

Bayern lost in Frankfurt. They are a good team, but if you have confidence and courage, you can do it. If you let them play, it is difficult.

Borussia Dortmund was surprised by Lazio’s strength in that first game. Against Bayern Lazio, must play like this to have a chance to beat them.

There are several players who Riedle sees as may be key in this tie.

Milinkovic-Savic is also very strong. I also felt that Lulic is back, and he is important. I also like Luis Alberto and Leiva a lot.

Lazio could use standout performances from these select players in the tie.
