Ciro Immobile and Luis Alberto Rank Among the Best in a Notable Serie A Goals Stat

Lazioโ€™s Luis Alberto scored what turned out to be the game-winner against Sampdoria. This goal for the Spanish playmaker was the seventh of his current Serie A campaign, which is already more than what he scored all of last season (6).

Overall, none of Albertoโ€™s goals have come from penalties, which is expected as teammate Ciro Immobile is tasked with the responsibility of taking the penalty kicks for Lazio. But this is notable as Alberto is among the top in the league in non-penalty goals scored.

More so, Immobile has scored 11 non-penalty goals this season, which puts him only behind Romelu Lukaku (12), Luis Muriel (12) and Cristiano Ronaldo (12).

Immobile has often faced some criticism in stat-padding his goals tally with penalties. This was somewhat the case last season when 14 of his 36 league goals came from penalties.

However, this is far from the case this season as only three of his 14 goals scored in league play have come from penalties.

The Italian forward is showing that he can still rank among the best goal-scorers in the league even without penalties.
