Lazio president Claudio Lotito is ready to reward the Biancocelesti squad if they manage to beat Bayern Munich and reach the next round of the Champions League, according to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today.

The report details how the Biancocelesti president has set aside sum funds to be given to the squad as a bonus for winning the Round of 16 tie against the reigning European and world champions.

The total is reportedly around €3 million, although the full amount has not been finalised just yet, the report continues.

Should Lazio reach the quarter-finals of the competition, they would earn another €10.5 million, showing the incredible financial reward that the Champions League brings.

Tonight’s European fixture between Lazio and Bayern Munich is their first ever competitive meeting, and the Roman club will be hoping their strong record against German opposition continues.

This game is the Biancocelesti’s first Champions League knockout game in 21 years, with their last appearance being in the 1999/2000 season.
