Bayern Coach Flick: “We Wanted to Pressure Lazio From the Start & It Worked”

Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick discussed yesterday’s 4-1 win over Lazio in the Champions League Round of 16 first leg when speaking to gathered reporters in a press conference after the game.

His words were collected by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

Everyone met expectations. We showed an excellent team performance. We wanted to put pressure on our opponents from the start and it worked well.

We are very satisfied. We want to reach the quarter-finals and today we took a giant step forward even if there is still the return leg to play.

Simone Inzaghi’s side will have to work hard to overcome their 4-1 deficit in the second leg of the Round of 16 tie, which is scheduled for the 17th March in Germany.

The Biancocelesti will have to clear their heads and look forward to next game, a league clash against Bologna on Saturday.
