Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane discussed yesterday’s important 4-1 Champions League Round of 16 win over Lazio yesterday in an interview with the German club’s official outlets after the game.
We wanted to be there from the first minute and make a statement. We wanted to play aggressively going forward here, away from home. It was a tough game.
You could see we were out of gas towards the end, Lazio too. We took advantage of the scoring opportunities and played a solid, good game. Certainly, it boosted us that we scored so early.
The 25-year-old Sane, who is contracted to the Bavarian club until 2025, has made 29 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1672 minutes.
In that time, he has scored eight goals and provided eight assists, being a dangerous attacking force for the reigning European champions.
