Lazio forward Joaquin Correa is remaining positive following the defeat to FC Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first leg.
Correa scored a goal in the match against the Bundesliga powerhouse, but this was one of the few promising moments from Lazio in the match. The Biancocelesti ended up allowing four goals at home to the reigning Bundesliga champions.
Lazio came into the tie as the heavy underdogs and now the odds are stacked further against the side following this loss. But as Correa mentioned in his post-game comments (via Lazio’s official website), there is a positive mentality for the Argentine following this showing.
The performance was not the best. Against Bayern Munich, you pay for every mistake. Now we have to get up immediately; there is still time in the league.
Then we will have to go to Germany and give everything for the return leg.
I came here for this; we aim for it every year. Today did not go well, but the desire is still there and we continue like this with our heads held high. We came from excellent matches with positive results.
Lazio heads into the return leg down 4-1 in the tie.
